Rings and Raindrops

Jungle Cabin

I was finally reunited with April in the Honolulu airport. She had made it so I would have a layover and we could share the last lego of the journey together. But we couldnt’ quite express our excitement yet. She was still with all of here students.

Soon tho, we were alone and happy to be so. We flew over to the big island and picked up our red convertible sports car, a requirement for April while in Hawaii.

But before we could head across the island, we had one thing scheduled. Swimming with the mata rays. An experience that was surprising and epic. A must see. No photos tho. That will happen next time tho.

So totally exhausted, I drove the two of us across the island where we found our quite little jungle stay. And.. We were instantly in love.

Our little Jungle Stay

April and I will debate about who found this spot till the day we die. I’m pretty sure I sent it to her, but April insist she found it.
But whoever found it, we both loved it. It’s a tiny shack in the woods. No real windows, just screens. Located deep down a dirt road. Surrounded by hippies and yoga retreats. Full of animals. This place was the perfect location for our little elopement.

Our first two days here on the island were to be spend getting ready for our wedding. Not a whole lot to do, but we had to get our license and a few other things. We also needed to glean up as much as possible, especially me. And last, April wanted to see if we could make a boquay. Which the host said we could use anything on the property for. She introduced us to the two people who worked there and they showed us around. And I must say, they made us feel very at home.

The animals of this place were just unreal. I have too many pics to share responsablily… So lets jump to the host:

I’ll have to figure out their names because I can’t rember, but boy were they nice. They showed us around. Gave us bags of fruit, and helped us in any way possible.

We were able to collect everhting we needed for April to make a beautiful bouquet… That I only photographed in black and white…

Wedding Day

Before we knew it, it was wedding day!

The day started slow with a tasty homemade breakfast. But soon, as the pieces began to fall together, everything began to speed up till it was a blur. Before we knew it, we were saying I do, and that was that!

When I got off the helicopter a few days before, there was an overstimulation of excitement. This day was similar, but 10 times so. Or maybe even 100 times so. So much going on, yet I cannot capture or describe what had happened. At least, not yet. I’ll have to think about it.

But let’s just say that after a perfect day, we went into the city of Hilo and had a creative meal at a place that was recommended to me by the guy who sold me my wedding shirt. we returned home to our lovely little shack and felt more relaxed and happy than we had ever felt before.

Our first day as husband and wife was an easy one. We slept in, and enjoyed the space. Eventually we got out of bed and made our way to town for some brunch, and then drove all the way to a beach that had hot pools in the lava rocks. It was quite nice there. And very relaxing. And then we drove to get some groceries and then back home. What a beautiful day.

When we got home, April took a bath while I squeezed juice from all the fruit we had accumulated over the past few days.

for dinner we had cheese ramamn.

At night we watched a movie, and a lizard pooped on Aprils Arm.

Sadly the next day we moved out of our tiny jungle house and into our new stay.
